Surprisingly Nick Cannon Files for Divorce from Mariah Carey?

 According to reports from TMZ, Nick Cannon has filed for divorce from his estranged wife Mariah Carey. He filed the papers on December 12 – just a week or so after Mariah showed up late for the NBC tree-light, which was reportedly because she was talking to lawyers about a property settlement.

News that the America’s Got Talent host made the first move to make things final has surprised fans, as it was believed Mariah was hoping for a reconcilliaton.

An insider told Us Weekly magazine that Mariah Carey isn't ready to "give up the idea of a happy family."
And her wish appeared to come true as they spent Christmas together.
But it seems Nick really was just trying to do the best for his children and was planning on filing all along.
