Davido Gives N1 Million To Poor Jide Sanyaolu #SendJideBackToUni

In July, when Davido hit 929,000 followers on Instagram, he promised he will give out N1 million to a fan when he hits the one million mark.

On Wednesday, August 12, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido became the first Nigerian celebrity to hit one million followers on the social media platform.

In fulfillment of his promise, the singer announced he would be giving out the promised amount to a worthy fan.

Yesterday, Davido announced the winner, an indigent young Nigerian student studying in U.K, Olajide Daniel Sanyaolu.

Interestingly, Olajide Daniel Sanyaolu has been soliciting for funds to help him complete his education which he had to abandoned because of lack of fund. Sanyaolu had opened a GoFundMe page just two weeks ago to raise money for his education

Read his story below:

“My name is Jide Sanyaolu and I need your help to further my education. I obtained a First Class degree (equivalent to a 4.0 G.P.A) during my first year studying BEng Electronics and Communications Engineering at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. However, due to financial difficulties I took a year break from my education, where I interned in the accounting department at Manifold Computers. Now, I am preparing to return to continue my education this September and I request your help to achieve this goal.

My education is on hold because my parents and support network are not able to provide the £24,700 tuition required to continue my university studies. I have to pay £12,350 to the University by the 30th of August 2015 in order to apply for my student visa and the balance £12,350 prior to school starts on September 28th.

I am using this platform to request for your help because I don’t have access to student loans or alternative financing sources. I am determined to return to full time education at the University of Liverpool, where I achieved First Class marks in the face of educational and financial adversity. During my last semester, I had no access to the library facilities provided by the university and my online access was limited due to the financial hold on my student account. Despite these limitations, I persevered and achieved top results.

With your donations, I am assured a place back at the University of Liverpool. After the University of Liverpool receives the funds, I will be issued a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies letter that will accompany my application for a new student visa.

Be rest assured that I will not misuse your donations and will keep all donors updated on my academic progress during the year.

No contribution is small. I appreciate you taking time to read this appeal and look forward to your assistance.

Please donate, and help build a young man destined to achieve great things.

God bless you!”

Though Sanyaolu is yet to meet up with his financial needs, Davido have been able to take him some steps closer to his needs. Sanyaolu has since shown his appreciation to Davido.
