ASUU Begins Indefinite Strike Over Fuel Price Hike

The National President of the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU), Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, sent a letter to the members of the Union nationwide to join the NLC in the strike action over hike in petrol price.

According To Ogunyemi, the reasons for joining the strike includes unpaid, delayed and partially payment of salaries by state, federal and local governments, disguised retrenchment of workers, especially by State Governments, in the name of verification exercise and endless hunt for ghost workers and heavy taxation.
