Wizkid Makes History! Becomes First Nigerian Artiste To Hit No.1 Spot On Billboard

Starboy is doing very great this season, Wizkid who won the African Artiste of the year at the just concluded Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has set another record.
He is officially the first Nigerian artiste to ever reach the number one spot on the Billboard top 100 songs list in the United States of America.

Baba Nla, as he is fondly called, worked with Canadian rapper, Drake on a single ‘One Dance‘ and the said song has gone on to score Drake number one spot on Bilboard. This automatically means same for our very own Wizzy.

Drake celebrates his first No. 1 as a lead artist on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated May 21), as "One Dance," featuring WizKid and Kyla, climbs from 2 to 1. The track is from his new album, Views, which, as previously reported, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with his best sales week and a record-setting weekly streaming total.

We can only imagine the many things to come after this for the talented young man.

Recall, South African music producer, Oskido, said listening to Wizkid’s yet to be released album proves that African artiste will have more doors opened to them once the album drops.

Wizkid, also recently signed four new artistes to Starboy Worldwide Entertainment.

We are proud of you Wizkid!
