Microsoft Acquires Linkedin For $26.2b

Microsoft has officially acquired LinkedIn Corp., the social-networking platform for professionals, for $26.2 billion @ $196/ share.

However, despite this agreement, Microsoft has affirmed that LinkedIn will still retain its distinct brand, culture, and independence. As a matter of fact, LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner will still remain CEO, but will report directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

The acquisition is expected to add to Microsoft’s per-share earnings in 2019, but most importantly, Microsoft wants to integrate existing Microsoft software into LinkedIn.
