Iyanya set to float his own record label as he leaves Tripple MG

After a long period of incessant in-fighting and clash of decisions, Iyanya is set to leave Tripple MG as he has announced the launching of his own record label

Multi-award winning Nigerian superstar singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, known by his stage name as Iyanya, who was shot to instant fame after winning the 2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa as well as for his hit song, "Kukere", has taken to his Instagram page to announce that he will be launching a new record label and album soon.

This announcement on social media has undoubtedly brought an end to his business relationship with the Made Men Music Group (MMMG) record label which he reportedly co-owns with his manager, friend and partner, Ubi Franklin.

The new announcement by the singer reportedly reached a climax after a long period of incessant in-fighting and clash of decisions as reports suggests that Ubi and Iyanya, have been at loggerheads over finances and a lot of other key decisions on the running of the label.

Recall that sometime last year, the label dumped two of its artistes, Emma Nyra and Baci, which according to sources, did not go down well with Iyanya, as Baci, most especially had a special bond with Iyanya, a friendship that had been honed over several years.

According to an exclusive report on Pulse NG, financial mismanagement issues was also a huge part of the disagreement as the two partners, Iyanya and Ubi have long not seen eye to eye over the remittance of booking and appearance fees, and that there have been concerns over Ubi’s handling of the business' finances.

It was further learnt that things got worse during and after Ubi’s celebrity wedding to Nollywood actress, Lilian Esoro, in November 2015 as Iyanya was reportedly not in favour of the union, and the effect it has on the business.

“Iyanya does not like the wife, and does not support the union”, a close source told Pulse.

A New report also revealed that the management of the record label has been shifted to a staff named Paul, who now handles day-to-day management of the record label, and also directly handle booking fees and performances.

Few hours ago, Iyanya took to his Instagram to share an artwork (above) of a new song titled, "Ayaya" which featured Ikpa Udo and Upper X. The song's artwork however had no record label presenting it which many of his followers concluded that the singer has indeed parted ways with his longtime partner, Ubi Franklin and the MMMG Records.
