Ugandan Court orders arrest of Wizkid and his manager over cancelled concert

Popular Nigerian singer, Wizkid and his manager, Sunday Are has been issued a warrant of arrest in Uganda for cancelling an already planned concert.

The order was issued by Magistrate Baligeya Moses Mufumbiro on Friday and said Wizkid should be arrested on or before January 16, 2017.

This follows a suit filed by Muwema and Co, solicitors for Face TV Ltd.

The plaintiff said Wizkid failed to attend a concert scheduled for December 3 in Kampala, after a payment of $60,000 was made to Are.

It also alleged that it paid $5,000 and $3,000 respectively as brokerage fee and for the days they would stay in Uganda.

Muwema claims Face TV accrued expenses of over $300,000, after over 25,000 Ugandans had already bought tickets for the concert.

Meanwhile it has been reported that the singer cancelled the concert and some other concerts based on health reasons as advised by his doctor.
